What is a digital ad operations job?

Digital Ad Operations jobs involve managing and optimizing online advertising campaigns across various digital platforms. Professionals in this field are responsible for setting up, trafficking, monitoring, and analyzing ad campaigns to ensure they deliver effective results for clients or organizations. These roles often require strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with ad servers, analytics tools, and reporting systems. Many Digital Ad Operations positions can be performed remotely, allowing for flexibility and collaboration with global teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital ad operations professional working remotely, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Ad Operations professional, you need a solid understanding of digital advertising platforms, campaign management, and analytics, often backed by experience in marketing or related fields. Familiarity with ad servers (like Google Ad Manager), DSPs, trafficking tools, and industry certifications such as IAB Digital Media Buying & Planning are highly valuable. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective remote communication skills help you excel in coordinating campaigns and troubleshooting issues. These skills are crucial for ensuring accurate campaign execution, optimizing performance, and maintaining seamless collaboration with clients and teams in a remote environment.

What is the difference between Digital Ad Operations Remote vs Digital Advertising Coordinator?

Digital Ad Operations Remote and Digital Advertising Coordinator roles share similar credentials and work environments, focusing on digital marketing and advertising platforms. While Digital Ad Operations Remote emphasizes technical execution and platform management remotely, Digital Advertising Coordinator often involves coordinating campaigns and client communication, sometimes in hybrid settings. Both roles are integral to digital marketing teams and require familiarity with ad tools and analytics.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in digital ad operations working remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Digital Ad Operations professionals often encounter challenges such as coordinating campaign launches across different time zones, managing communication with multiple stakeholders, and troubleshooting ad delivery issues without immediate in-person support. To address these, it's important to leverage collaborative project management tools, maintain clear documentation, and schedule regular check-ins with team members. Developing strong organizational skills and proactively communicating any potential issues can help ensure campaigns run smoothly and deadlines are met.

Job description

Description
Company Overview
AdCellerant is an award-winning unified, AI-enhanced digital marketing platform and growth partner, helping media companies, agencies, and brands, simplify their digital marketing operations, scale revenue, and deliver amazing results since 2013.
Summary of Role
AdCellerant's partner network is growing, and the Senior PPC Specialist is responsible for the execution of partner campaigns: everything from trafficking, campaign management, reporting, and communication to the partner's operations team. The Senior PPC Specialist position is one of the most vital roles at AdCellerant, and we pride ourselves in leading the industry in ad performance, technology, and most of all, customer service.
The Senior PPC Specialist plays an important character in these aspects of our business by meeting deadlines, achieving campaign KPI's, communicating regularly with the partners, and reporting for our clients. Attention to detail and creative problem-solving are both important parts of this position.
Responsibilities
  • Ad Trafficking: The process of order intake and trafficking, in our demand-side platform, includes setting up the order, pre-optimizing, and ultimately setting a campaign live.
  • Campaign Management: The process of continually checking and improving on the health of a campaign, including pacing, click-through rates, measuring conversions, and ultimately ROI for the client.
  • Communication: Being able to take the complicated and make it simple for our partners and clients is a key part of the job. Not all campaigns are created equal and being able to explain that in a way that is consumable by all is important in this role.
  • Reporting: Successful Campaign Managers will provide status updates based on business rules for partners and their clients. This output provides crucial data points about the KPI's of each campaign and becomes the benchmark we use for our performance.
  • Team Building: As a growing company, we hope that all individuals will contribute to the future growth and acceleration of our business. What are your ideas to help us grow another 5x in the next year?
  • Troubleshooting: When problems arise, it will be necessary to perform troubleshooting steps to ensure that issues are properly resolved. Also, it will be part of your responsibility to document best practices, so if the same issue arises in the future the team is better prepared to handle it.

Requirements
  • 4+ years in ad operations, ad trafficking or account management at a digitally focused ad agency, client or media company
  • 3+ years working and communicating with clients or internal customers focused on data, operations and/or performance conversations
  • Experience with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Amazon and or any other associated ad serving technology
  • Experience with ecomm, shopping, data feed management is a plus.
  • Experience aggregating, providing and explaining performance reporting for digital media campaigns
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of digital production, design, digital ad tags, and/or creative specs
  • Demonstrated experience handling, organizing and managing complex, detailed oriented tasks with a high level of success and a very low error rate
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems through provided channels

Compensation
Compensation range of $75,000 - $105,000+. The salary ranges between $60,000 - $75,000 annually. The bonus structure will be tied to media spend managed and successful execution and management.

  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Wellness Program

Life at AdCellerant
Life at AdCellerant is built around one simple belief: if our team thrives, everything else follows. That's guided every decision we've made since opening our doors in 2013, from how we structure our benefits to how we celebrate wins to how we show up for each other and the partners we support.
