Job description

Join the Digital Accessibility Team as an Independent Verification Lead Tester and embark on a rewarding career path where you will play a crucial role as an experienced and highly skilled team member. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the independent verification and testing activities for our site and apps, ensuring the delivery of high-quality inclusive solutions. You will have good background in accessibility testing, excellent leadership skills, building out programs from the ground up, and excellent interpersonal skills.

As a Vice President Accessibility Lead - Independent Verification Tester in the Digital Accessibility Team, you will be at the forefront of improving the delivery of high-quality inclusive solutions. You will lead and coordinate the independent verification and testing activities for our site and applications. This role provides an opportunity to leverage your leadership skills, your expertise in accessibility testing, and your ability to build programs from the ground up. You will also have the chance to collaborate with various stakeholders, mentor a team, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.

Job responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the independent verification and testing (IVT) processes across multiple products. 
  • Develop and implement test strategies, test plans, and test cases to recommend comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Define and manage project scope and objectives against project schedule and work plan.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the independent verification and testing (IVT) team. Establish and enforce quality assurance standards and new ideas. 
  • Collaborate with product and delivery managers and other stakeholders to recommend a clear understanding of requirements and quality expectations.
  • Develop detailed test plans based on product specifications and requirements. Execute test cases, track and report on test results, and manage defect oversight.
  • Explore opportunities for test automation where applicable. 
  • Collaborate with Accessibility team to evaluate and recommend testing tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Effectively communicate testing progress, results, and any potential issues to product stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with accessibility Advisors and development teams to resolve defects and improve the timely delivery of high-quality inclusive websites and apps.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement within the area of testing and verification. Stay current with industry trends, new ideas, and emerging technologies in accessibility testing.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • 5+ years of relevant accessibility testing knowledge.
  • Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them
  • Project management experience, experience managing 5+ team member. 
  • Ability to discern accessibility issues from wireframes and code. 
  • Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the best solution
  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of product stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual consultant with your assigned client.
  • Detailed accessibility knowledge in a broad range of technologies, Various platforms including Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS, Video and other digital media, PDF and other document standards.
  • Hands On knowledge of Assistive Technology (for example screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.) 
  • Basic knowledge of VPAT / ACR documents, Working in JIRA tickets
  • Technical knowledge in Web Accessibility Initiative, Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA), HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), qTest or other testing applications

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of International laws is a plus.
