Job description

Hours per week: Full time, 40 hours

Location: Mount Pleasant, SC
This position reports to:Director of Technology
The mission: Seacoast Church exists to help people Find God, Grow Their Faith, Discover Their Purpose, and Make a Difference. Everything we do — including Technology and Production — supports lifechange and meaningful worship experiences.

The Opportunity

The Director of AVL Systems leads a team of hands-on experts and makes sure all audio, video, and lighting systems work smoothly during services and events across every campus. This role blends leadership, technical expertise, and team development to deliver great worship experiences each weekend.

This leader oversees a customer-focused central AVL team, helps guide major technology projects, and works closely with ministries, technology, and production teams to build reliable systems that support all campuses.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Develop People

  • Lead, coach, and grow the AVL Systems team
  • Provide regular feedback, 1:1s, annual reviews, and mentorship
  • Equip staff and volunteers to deliver with confidence

Own AVL Excellence Across Campuses

  • Oversee design, deployment, maintenance, and performance of all AVL systems
  • Ensure consistent standards, documentation, and reliability churchwide
  • Maintain strong relationships with church leadership, campus staff and ministry volunteers and drive excellence

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation for AVL requests, ensuring timely resolution
  • Prioritize and execute capital projects on time and within budget
  • Partner closely with the Director of Technology, Central IT Systems (a subset of Technology Team), and campus teams
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships and service agreements

Enable the Weekend Experience

  • Ensure all AVL systems perform seamlessly during services and events
  • Support special events that may occur nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Participate in a weekly Technology Team oncall rotation

Technical Environment

Oversee the deployment and maintenance of all AVL Systems across all campuses, including but not limited to the following:

  • Audio consoles (DiGiCo Q338 and Q225, Allen & Heath Avantis and SQ series), speakers, amplifiers, wireless mics and IEMs, video switchers, routers, cameras, projectors and TVs, LED walls, lighting fixtures, lighting consoles, meeting room/conference systems, acoustic panels
  • All related software including but not limited to ProPresenter, Ableton Live, Klang, WAVES SoundGrid, Dante, Wireless Workbench, DashBoard, ATEM, Onyx, grandMA and Q-SYS
  • Establish and drive weekly and monthly maintenance rhythms for above systems

What We’re Looking For

  • Christ follower (as a religious organization, Seacoast Church makes hiring decisions aligned to our faith and belief)
  • 7–10+ years of experience in church production, or live AVL environments
  • Proven leader who thrives in handson, teambased settings
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Ability to travel regularly between campuses (local day trips and limited overnights)
