APEX UTILITY STRUCTURES – NOW HIRING
CDL Driver / Utility Laborer (Path to Digger Derrick Operator)
St. Petersburg / Tampa Bay Area

Full-Time W-2 Position

IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT REMOTE / DIRECT-TO-JOB POSITION.
This is a show up to the shop every day position. Crew members report to the shop each morning and travel to job sites from there unless otherwise directed.

IMPORTANT: WE ARE NOT A LINEMAN COMPANY.
We are a foundation drilling / utility structure installation company specializing in:

  • Drilled light pole foundations
  • Concrete base installation
  • Pole setting
  • Utility structure installation

If you are looking for a lineman, electrical, or bucket truck-only position, this is not the role.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on construction position—not a supervisory or light-duty role.

FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:
If you have the right work ethic, attitude, and basic construction aptitude, this position can grow into a Digger Derrick Operator role. We are willing to train the right person.

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU:

  • Do not have a valid CDL (Class B minimum required / Class A a plus)
  • Are not comfortable with hard physical labor
  • Cannot work outdoors in Florida heat and humidity
  • Cannot repeatedly lift 75–100 lbs
  • Do not have basic tool/construction knowledge
  • Need constant supervision
  • Are exaggerating your experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid CDL
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong work ethic
  • Competent with hand tools and power tools
  • Willing to labor with the crew when not driving/operating
  • Overtime availability
  • Clean driving record preferred
  • Experience in construction, utility work, drilling, heavy equipment, concrete work, or related trades strongly preferred

THIS ROLE INCLUDES:

  • Daily reporting to the shop before deployment to job sites
  • Digging / drilling operations
  • Foundation construction
  • Concrete work
  • Heavy lifting
  • Equipment operation
  • General labor

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with early starts and overtime as needed.
