Job Description

The Diesel Support Level 2 Technician is responsible for working with customers effecting quick and effective solutions when issues or requests are reported by the customer. The ideal Diesel Tech Level 2 candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.  To ensure success, the Diesel Tech Support Level 2 should have knowledge of all aspects of on and off highway diesel equipment or extensive on highway experience.   The Tech should be familiar with code descriptions and troubleshooting knowledge.  The Diesel Tech should exhibit organizational and strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.  Must work well in a group setting. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues 

  • Assist customers with diagnostic codes and troubleshooting 

  • Walk customers through problem solving process 

  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of help tickets 

  • Work with customers using multiple types of diagnostic software and hardware 

  • Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic support with On and Off Highway equipment issues 

  • Assist with programming events 

  • Preserve and grow knowledge of help desk procedures, products and services 

  • Creating detailed records regarding reported requests, issues, and solutions 

  • May be asked to perform other duties if needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years in Off Highway Mechanic setting, and 8+ years in On Highway Diesel Mechanic setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills as would be needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information.
  • Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and professional boundaries.
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws
  •  Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Proficient in MS Office.   
  • Other: Must be eligible to work in the USA.  May be subject to criminal background checks.Â
