Automotive & Diesel Diagnostic Technician

Launch Diesel & Performance – Merritt Island, FL

About Us

Launch Diesel & Performance is one of Brevard County's premier diesel repair and performance shops. We specialize in advanced diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, routine maintenance, fleet repair, and high-performance diesel builds. We're looking for a technician who enjoys solving difficult problems—not just replacing parts.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose complex electrical, drivability, and engine performance concerns
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and service information
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using scan tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, engine management systems, and wiring faults
  • Perform mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, cooling systems, engine repairs, and routine maintenance
  • Complete preventative maintenance services and vehicle inspections
  • Accurately document diagnostic findings and repair procedures
  • Work closely with the shop owner and team to solve challenging repair issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive or diesel repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own professional hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing both diesel and gasoline vehicles
  • Strong electrical diagnostic experience
  • Experience using OEM and aftermarket scan tools
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and diagnose CAN bus/network communication issues
  • Oscilloscope experience is a plus
  • ASE certifications are a plus but not required
