Job description

PADNOS is a full-service recycling company handling paper, plastic, metals and electronic recycling. We tailor recycling programs for consumer and industrial clients throughout the United States. Position Summary
Our Diesel Mechanic I are responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. This position supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and other mechanical systems. The Diesel Mechanic I diagnoses mechanical issues, repairs hydraulic and electrical systems, completes required documentation, and ensures equipment is operating properly and in compliance with safety standards.
Schedule
  • Monday - Friday
  • 6:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles
  • Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, brake inspections, and fluid checks
  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical components
  • Conduct safety inspections and document repair findings accurately
  • Replace basic mechanical components including belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and brake components
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Respond to road calls or minor field service repairs as assigned
  • Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
  • Accurately complete work orders and maintenance records using shop software systems
  • Support senior technicians on larger repairs and rebuild projects

Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Relevant Military experience
  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of welding and torching preferred
  • Experience with air brakes and hydraulic systems preferred
  • 1-3 years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience
  • Trade school or vocational training in diesel technology preferred
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Be over 18 years of age
