Job description

GryphClaw Customs is a young company with a lot of momentum. Our long-term goal is to become a leader in classic car restoration and custom builds, but right now, we are focused on growing our operations and keeping a wide variety of equipment running. We also design and build innovative mobile camera systems, making our shop a unique mix of mechanical work and new technology.
We aren’t looking for a "specialist" who only wants to work on one specific thing. We need a Mechanic amp; Shop Specialist—someone who is a gearhead at heart and takes pride in making things run, whether it’s a truck, a tractor, or a lawn mower. If it has an engine or wheels, you should be ready to dive in.
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like: This role is a mix of hands-on repairs and the essential work that helps us build this shop from the ground up.
  • Mechanical "All-Rounder": You’ll handle the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for a wide range of machinery—trucks, cars, tractors, and lawn mowers. This includes engine work, suspension repairs, brake servicing, and routine preventative maintenance.
  • Building the Foundation: Since we are a growing shop, we need someone with the drive to help us set up the "basics." This means keeping tools maintained, organizing inventory, and helping create the systems that keep our daily workflow running smoothly.
  • Vehicle Projects amp; Prep: As we move toward more restoration and custom work, you’ll be involved in body prep, rust removal, and sourcing or testing parts to get vehicles ready for the next stage of the build.
  • Fabrication amp; Welding (Growth Opportunities): As you progress, we are happy to train you on custom welding and metal fabrication. This opens the door for you to help modify frames or build durable components for our future vehicle projects.
  • Electrical amp; Tech (Potential Tasks): There is also the possibility to learn and help with low-voltage systems. This could range from wiring up a dashboard to eventually assisting with the assembly of our surveillance camera units as needed.
Who You Are
  • The Foundation: You have a solid mechanical background, whether that’s from a professional shop or years of serious DIY experience in your own garage. You understand how engines, transmissions, and brakes actually work.
  • The Mindset: You have high "up-time." You don't wait to be told what to do. If you see a tool out of place or a machine that needs service, you handle it. You take pride in high-quality work and have a sharp eye for detail.
  • The Learner: You don’t need to be a certified master tech, but you do need to be hungry to grow your skills. We want someone who wants to stay, work hard, and help us turn this shop into a powerhouse.
  • The Basics: You have a valid driver’s license and a clean record. You’re physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and aren't afraid of a demanding, hands-on shop environment.
What We Offer: We offer competitive pay and a place where your hard work actually makes an impact. You won’t be a cog in a machine here; you’ll be a key part of our shop’s growth. As we expand, you’ll have the chance to learn specialized trades—like welding and electrical—in a straightforward, hardworking environment.
