Job description

The Operator I position at the Cherokee Run Golf Club is involves semi-skilled to skilled work in the operation of all types of golf course equipment, and moderately complex heavy equipment. It which also requires the performance of manual labor.
Work involves the operation of vehicles and equipment used in routine maintenance and reconstruction projects for the golf course. Work also involves the use of power tools in preparing areas for construction. Work requires not only the safe and skilled operation of equipment but also maintains equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Operate a chainsaw in clearing the golf course and disc golf course, tee areas, and green complexes.
  • Operate a dump truck (under 36,000 G.V.W.) and pulls equipment trailers when necessary.
  • Assist in work such as irrigation repair, cart path repair, bunker repair, and other construction jobs as needed.
  • Operate a greens-mower, fairway-mower, sand pro, loader, and any other related heavy equipment as required to assist in a variety of construction and maintenance projects.
  • Assist in construction projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Performs heavy manual labor, as necessary.

Education and Experience:
  • Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school.
  • Experience in similar manual work.
  • Experience with golf course equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Experience in the operation of various golf course equipment including greens-mower, fairway-mower, trap rack, loader, and tractors.
  • Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license.
