Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Production Processing
  • Maintains production plan per work order due dates to optimize schedules, deliveries, yields and intra-department communications.
  • Maintain manufacturing processes per procedures by observation and routine audits.
  • Communicate Diamond Fab production process/yield problems to Manager, supervisors and/or process engineers on a timely basis.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing issues as they occur.
  • Attends daily production shift change meeting, communicating priorities and issues to manufacturing team.
  • Plans activities and schedules that relay any issues that could occur and cause delays.
  • Understands all diamond processing activities and provides feedback on areas of concern.
  • Provides feedback to process engineering and maintenance that relates to yields or concerns that affect deterministic manufacturing.

Process & Equipment Maintenance
  • Performs daily equipment maintenance (checking operation temp, water flows, and outlined general maintenance task).
  • Works needed production schedules to meet a commitment to on-time deliveries.
  • Reviews quality goals outlined for the work group and addresses issues as they occur. Assures goals are met.
  • Support cross training throughout the department and utilize training skills when appropriate.
  • Enforce company rules and shop procedures in the processing and support areas.
  • Provide problem solving and technical support for daily production issues.
  • Focus on maintaining deterministic process controls and sustaining process operations.
  • Periodically works off scheduled shift to support training and improve communication.
  • Uses experience to improve processes, communicating with manufacturing and process engineers.

Communication & Teamwork

Education & Experience
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: >2 years manufacturing experience
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. person, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8. U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Working Conditions
  • Primary environment is a clean temperature controlled light manufacturing area with low levels of noise and dirt.
  • Steady three shift operation.
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week with potential of 8 hours of overtime and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements
  • Combination of 25% standing and 75% sitting for long periods. Lifting requirements not to exceed 30 lbs.

Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards. Steel toe shoes provided and required. Heat resistant gloves required when handling hot objects. Gloves required when handling slurries or other chemicals such as: acetone, acetic acid, isopropyl alcohol, and propylene glycol.

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
