Role Description The Diamond Turning Operator Level III is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaffrey, NH. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


The essential function of the Diamond Turning Operator is to operate diamond turning machines to manufacture close tolerance precisions optics/m metals to exact specifications.


PRIMARY TASKS


SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


➢Develop machining processes where necessary


➢Full understanding of materials used in Diamond Turning


➢Train other technicians


➢Operate and set up diamond turning/grinding machining centers


➢Expand CNC programming and have the ability to create and/or modify CNC programs


➢Operate and understand Optical test equipment such as interferometers and surface profilometers


➢Follow and contribute to documenting processes and work instructions for diamond turning operation


➢Operate traditional inspection equipment such as Zygo interferometers, Radius Slides, CMM, Talysurf, toolmaker’s microscope, micrometers, height gages and Vernier calipers


➢Ability to read and understand both optical and traditional mechanical drawings


➢Perform and complete tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.


➢Support company values and work ethics.


➢Provide support as needed for Kaizen events, root cause analysis, preventative action, customer returns, non-conformances and other quality events.


➢Knowledge of Diffsys.


➢Maintain a safe environment and enforce all safety protocols.


➢Report to your immediate supervisor all security breaches.


➢Other duties as assigned.


➢Report to your immediate supervisor about any observed employee accidents or personal injury.


➢Work cooperatively with production team leaders as well as engineers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


➢Education/Training: Minimum Requirement: H.S Diploma or Equivalent


➢Experience: Minimum Requirement: 10-15 Years of Diamond Turning Machining Experience


➢3+ Years of Programming experience


➢Knowledge/Skills: Basic computer skills (MS Word/MS Excel/MS Outlook etc.)


➢Good verbal and written communication


➢Proficient math skills


➢Ability to follow detailed instructions


➢Ability to read optical drawings


➢Analytical troubleshooting/problem solving


➢Decision making


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.


➢STRENGTH: May occasionally lift 30lbs.
