Job Title: Wi-Fi Developer Location - Englewood, COC2C is workable.Skill: Wifi / networking, embedded c developmentJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Wi-Fi Developer with strong expertise in Embedded C/C++ and networking protocols to design, develop, integrate, and debug Wi-Fi software for embedded and networking platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IEEE 802.11 standards, Wi-Fi drivers, firmware, Linux/embedded systems, TCP/IP networking, and wireless communication technologies.
  • WiFi Integration
    * Develop and maintain WiFi radio configuration across Qualcomm, Broadcom, and Atheros chipsets for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands
    * Implement and debug WiFi features including band steering, client steering, channel selection (DFS/non-DFS), BSS Coloring, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, TWT, and MLO (WiFi 7)
    * Work with hostapd/wpa_supplicant configuration, CFG80211/mac80211/nl80211 driver interfaces
    * Develop and maintain OpenSync WiFi managers for cloud-managed radio configuration, client monitoring, and statistics reporting
    * Debug WiFi driver crashes, firmware asserts, performance regressions, and interoperability issues across client devices
    * Implement mesh/extender backhaul configuration and optimization
    * Develop and tune RvR (Rate vs Range) and throughput KPIs across firmware builds
    * Support channel switching, ECSA, radar detection (DFS), and regulatory compliance across multiple country codes Cellular Backup (Phone-as-Backhaul)
    * Implement phone-as-backhaul connectivity - enabling the router to use the customer's mobile device as a backup WAN path
    * Develop the router-side failover client that communicates with the companion mobile app (MSA) to initiate and terminate backup sessions
    * Implement WAN outage detection and internet reachability healthcheck framework
    * Develop route arbitration and traffic steering logic between primary WAN and phone-based cellular backup
