Job description

Quality Control Technician

Location: Fort Benning, Georgia

The Quality Control Technician supports dining facility operations at Fort Benning by ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, food safety standards, and organizational policies. This role focuses on monitoring quality, sanitation, and operational consistency across assigned dining facilities to support mission readiness and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of dining facilities to verify compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and contractual standards.
  • Monitor food preparation, storage, handling, and service practices to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Document findings and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain inspection records, logs, and supporting documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Communicate trends, risks, and deficiencies to management with clear recommendations.
  • Work closely with DFAC Managers and Assistant DFAC Managers to address quality issues.
  • Verify corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Support readiness inspections and internal audits.
  • Reinforce food safety and sanitation requirements with frontline staff.
  • Provide on-the-spot guidance to improve compliance and operational performance.
  • Support implementation of updated policies or procedures.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Prior experience in food service, quality control, safety, or institutional dining environments preferred.
  • Military dining facility or large-scale institutional food service experience is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple facilities.

Certifications

  • ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
