Operator/Adjuster/Inspector - IMEX/Pellets & Premolds - 3rd shift, $21.28 + Shift Differential

JOB SUMMARY:

Achieve daily departmental goals, safety practices, and production while working together as a team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate all machines and auxiliary equipment within all applicable departments.
  • Diagnose and remedy minor machine problems.
  • Report any operating difficulties to the Tool setter and assist the Tool setter as required.
  • Responsible for quality of production which includes inspection and controlling the separation of unacceptable work from acceptable work.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect product and components using direct reading, standard gauges and inspection equipment such as micrometers, tensile tester, hardness tester, milligram weight scales and optical comparators.
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding set production levels. Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of machinery.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating to assigned equipment as required.
  • Move product, components and raw material as needed using safe working practices.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Keep production records and perform other work responsibilities related to the job.
  • Must be able to work overtime if needed.

Safety: perform safe work practices:

  • Communicate Behavior Based Safety
  • Wear proper PPE.
  • Identify, report and resolve safety risks/hazards.
  • Support and maintain 6-S 360 principles throughout.

Quality: perform and build quality at the source to ensure specifications are met:

  • Identify and work collaboratively to resolve non-conformances.
  • Support and work collaboratively to initiate and follow through with corrective actions.
  • Diagnose and problem solve operational deficiencies.
  • Check completed work for hardness and visually inspect as required.

Lean Manufacturing Principles:

  • Participate with lean initiatives to make continuous improvements in the department (6S projects, 6S 360 and SMED events)
  • Communicate and follow work instructions.
  • Ensure FIFO at operational levels.
  • Team collaboration to ensure equipment uptime and efficiencies.
