Project Manager - Industrial Automation

Location: United States (National and International Travel Required)
Reporting to: Automation Engineering Manager

Are you an experienced automation project leader who thrives on delivering complex engineering solutions from concept through commissioning?

We're seeking a Project Manager - Industrial Automation to lead the delivery of transformative automation and digital projects across our growing network of medical waste processing facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-impact greenfield and brownfield projects while working with cutting-edge technologies including PLCs, SCADA, robotics, HMI, and Industrial IoT platforms.

You'll partner with engineering, operations, system integrators, and technology vendors to create smarter, safer, and more efficient facilities that support essential healthcare services nationwide.

What You'll Do
  • Lead end-to-end automation projects from concept, design, and installation through commissioning and optimization.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Oversee the implementation of industrial automation technologies, including PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, HMI applications, and IIoT solutions.
  • Travel to facilities across the U.S. to support project execution, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to deliver practical, scalable solutions.
  • Manage external system integrators, OEMs, and technology partners to ensure quality, safety, and successful delivery.
  • Lead technical reviews, governance meetings, and project workshops.
  • Support installation, testing, troubleshooting, and operational handover activities.
  • Drive automation standardization, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering industrial automation, engineering, or capital projects.
  • Strong experience with PLC and SCADA systems, ideally including Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and/or Schneider Electric platforms.
  • Proven success managing automation projects in manufacturing, process industries, waste management, or similarly complex industrial environments.
  • Experience managing system integrators, OEMs, contractors, and multi-vendor project teams.
  • Knowledge of electrical and control systems design principles.
  • Hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety, compliance, and risk management requirements.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the United States.

“The pay range for this position is $121,535 to  $144,735.50salary. Actual compensation within this range will depend on factors unique to each candidate, such as prior experience, skill, certifications, and work location.
