Job Title: Project Manager (Recreational Centre, Office Buildings and Firehall Buildings)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 annually (based on experience)

Our client is a well‑established Edmonton‑based General Contractor delivering multi-family, commercial, institutional, light industrial and First Nations projects across a range of contract types.

They are seeking a Project Manager to join a collaborative, well‑supported operations team, reporting to the VP of Operations.

Your first assignment will be a Design Bid Build recreational centre in Edmonton. Upon completion, you will have the option to transition into a commercial office project or a multifamily complex in their backlog, providing continuity and long‑term career stability.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manage construction projects with different contract types from pre‑construction through close‑out
  • Develop and control project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
  • Direct internal and external projects team including subcontractors, and manage engagements with consultants, engineers, and other influential parties.
  • Prepare and present clear, timely project status reports
  • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee contract administration, proposals, and negotiations
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality expectations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and key stakeholders


What We’re Looking For:

  • 8–10 years of experience in managing design build and construction management (commercial or institutional) projects and contract types in a General Contractor environment.
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven General Contractor experience managing building construction from greenfield to completion.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with subcontractors, engineers, consultants, and owners’ representatives
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Solid expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Experience using MS Project and Procore (strong asset)
