Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design delivers operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
Position Summary
Venture Global is seeking a senior leader to own the planning, execution, and handover of brownfield capital projects and complex integrated turnaround outages across operating LNG facilities.
This role is responsible for coordinating front-end engineering through execution and operational handover, applying Venture Global's Brownfield Stage Gate and Outage Management processes, and ensuring safe, predictable delivery aligned with operational reliability, cost, and schedule objectives. The position requires deep experience in LNG brownfield project execution, plant operations, turnarounds, and with the ability to lead matrixed internal and external teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, and contractors. This position will be based in Louisiana, with regular travel to operating facilities and contractor locations.
Position Responsibilities
Capital Projects & Brownfield Execution
  • Lead and coordinate front-end engineering, feasibility, define, execute, and handover phases for brownfield capital projects through Venture Global's Stage Gate Process.
  • Ensure projects deliver optimal schedule, cost, operability, and technical integrity outcomes.
  • Develop and optimize brownfield execution strategies for operating LNG facilities, including CP, CP2, and Plaquemines.
  • Ensure alignment between project scopes, outage windows, operational priorities, and long-term asset reliability.
  • Monitor contractor and service provider performance to ensure technical, commercial, and HSSE compliance.
  • Assist with preparation and review of key approvals including:
    • Scopes of work
    • Feasibility studies
    • Contracting and execution strategies
    • MOC documentation
    • Awards, variations, and project change requests
  • Ensure appropriate quality assurance and technical assurance across engineering and execution deliverables.

Turnarounds & Outage Leadership
  • Plan, lead, and execute complex, integrated LNG turnarounds and outages, including gas turbines, pretreatment units, liquefaction units, instrumentation and controls upgrades, and balance-of-plant scopes.
  • Lead the development of logically integrated outage schedules, coordinating multiple work fronts and execution interfaces.
  • Track and manage scope growth, risk, schedule deviation, and cost impacts throughout outage execution.
  • Apply Venture Global's Outage Management Procedure to ensure consistent planning, execution, and closure.
  • Serve as outage/project lead for medium to large outage scopes, coordinating multi-discipline teams and external contractors.
  • Communicate outage status, risks, and exceptions clearly to senior leadership.

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Act as a key interface between Operations, Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, HSSE, and external contractors.
  • Ensure senior management is fully informed of key risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and influence matrix organizations to drive integrated execution outcomes.
  • Train, mentor, and develop project and outage personnel, fostering strong technical capability and leadership depth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of brownfield and outage execution processes, tools, and standards.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
  • Responsible for ensuring HSSE policies and regulatory requirements are applied across all project and outage activities.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence mindset.
  • Reinforce Venture Global's Stop Work Authority - ensuring all personnel understand their obligation and authority to stop unsafe work without fear of reprisal.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline (required).
  • 10+ years' experience in LNG operations, brownfield capital projects, and turnaround/outage execution.
  • Proven experience leading complex, integrated outages in operating LNG or similar process facilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of project controls, scheduling, risk management, and cost management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage EPC / EPCM contractors and service providers.
  • Strong understanding of discipline interfaces and project execution workflows.
  • Client-side experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 65%.

Competencies
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance production, safety, cost, and schedule.
  • Highly effective communicator able to challenge constructively and negotiate outcomes.
  • Decisive leader capable of exercising independent judgment on complex issues.
  • Proactive, flexible, and resilient in fast-paced operational environments.
  • Strong team player with the ability to lead matrix organizations.
