Job description

Job Title: Development Mechanic/Technician

Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Development Mechanic/Technician is responsible for supporting the build, integration, and development of prototype and pre-production vehicles, as well as advanced mechanical systems. This role operates at the intersection of engineering and hands-on execution, ensuring that evolving designs are accurately translated into functional vehicle builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support full vehicle builds, including prototype and pre-production units
  • Install, modify, and troubleshoot vehicle subsystems, including powertrain, suspension, electrical, thermal, and structural components
  • Interpret and execute engineering drawings, CAD releases, and build documentation
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and program teams to support system integration and development objectives
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues during the build and test phases
  • Assist in prototype fabrication and development testing activities
  • Document build changes, issues, and resolutions in alignment with engineering change processes
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment in compliance with company standards

Qualifications:
