Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and directing the activities of maintenance employees in the repair and preventive maintenance of all mobile and fixed equipment.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance is performed in a safe and technically correct manner.
  • Maintaining a mixed fleet of equipment capable to serve the customers changing needs
  • Provide leadership and direction to the internal maintenance team, external vendors and suppliers to ensures that work is completed efficiently and inline with the Mills schedules.
  • Providing technical guidance for both corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the correct tools and resources are available for the Maiantence team.
  • Management of short and long term maintenance planning, and completion of planned activities efficiently within budget.
  • Significant technical input and creation of scope of work for major repairs.
  • Assisting maintenance workers and sub-contractors in performing diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Provide guidance and training to members of the maintenance crew

The ideal candidate will be:
  • A strong organized communicator, willing to work a rotating schedule, weekends and holidays in a fast paced environment.
  • Participate in safety, quality and environmental programs by conducting observations, audits and meetings.
  • Carry out duties with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications
  • 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience of Heavy Mobile Equipment, Static Processing Plant, Locomotive and/or Gantry Cranes and/or
  • 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a fast-paced customer oriented service support environment and/or
  • 3 years plus Maintenance supervisory experience in a Steel Mill, quarry, mining, rolling stock, major construction or material processing environment and/or
  • Sound mechanical knowledge of the following types of equipment Medium and Large Wheel Loaders, Scraper Tractors, Diesel Locomotive, Gantry Crane, Material Processing plants would be beneficial
