Job description

Position Summary...What you'll do...The Senior Manager, Technology Operations - Marketplace Business Development & Seller Growth will lead strategic initiatives focused on seller acquisition, adoption, growth, and long-term marketplace success. This role is responsible for identifying and developing strategic partnerships, driving seller onboarding and engagement, enhancing the seller experience, and creating programs that improve seller economics and marketplace competitiveness. The ideal candidate will have deep ecommerce and marketplace experience, a strong background in business development and partner management, and a proven track record of leading large, complex programs that drive measurable business outcomes. This role will also play a key role in international marketplace expansion by developing scalable seller growth strategies across global markets. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop and execute marketplace growth strategies through strategic partnerships with brands, aggregators, agencies, technology providers, and ecosystem partners.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that accelerate seller acquisition, seller success, and marketplace growth.
  • Negotiate and manage high-impact partnerships that deliver incremental GMV, assortment expansion, and seller engagement.
  • Build executive-level relationships with key marketplace stakeholders and industry leaders.
Seller Acquisition
  • Develop and execute scalable seller acquisition programs to attract high-quality sellers and brands.
  • Identify priority categories, markets, and seller segments to support marketplace growth objectives.
  • Lead outreach, recruitment, and onboarding initiatives to expand marketplace assortment and selection.
  • Establish acquisition goals, performance metrics, and growth plans.
Seller Adoption & Growth
  • Drive seller activation and adoption of marketplace capabilities and services.
  • Design programs that accelerate seller ramp-up, improve seller productivity, and increase retention.
  • Partner with product, operations, and marketing teams to improve seller engagement across the seller lifecycle.
  • Monitor seller performance and develop strategies to unlock growth opportunities.
Seller Experience Enhancements
  • Champion initiatives that simplify seller onboarding, listing management, fulfillment, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Gather seller feedback and partner with Product and Technology teams to prioritize experience improvements.
  • Develop seller-centric solutions that reduce friction and improve overall satisfaction.
  • Establish mechanisms to measure and improve seller NPS, engagement, and retention.
Advertising Strategy & Adoption
  • Drive seller adoption of marketplace advertising solutions to improve seller growth and marketplace monetization.
  • Partner with advertising and product teams to develop seller-focused advertising programs and educational initiatives.
  • Identify barriers to adoption and implement strategies that increase advertiser participation and ROI.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations that align advertising products with seller growth objectives.
Seller Economics & Cost Optimization
  • Develop strategies that improve seller profitability and competitiveness on the marketplace.
  • Identify opportunities to lower seller operating costs through fulfillment, logistics, advertising, technology, and partnership initiatives.
  • Evaluate variable cost structures and recommend programs that improve seller economics while maintaining marketplace profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to ensure a compelling seller value proposition.
Program Leadership & International Expansion
  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs involving Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Technology teams.
  • Manage end-to-end program execution, governance, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting.
  • Support international marketplace expansion initiatives through seller recruitment, localization strategies, and ecosystem partnerships.
  • Drive consistency and scalability of seller growth programs across multiple regions and markets.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in ecommerce, marketplace business development, seller acquisition, category management, partnerships, or related fields.
  • Proven success driving seller acquisition and marketplace growth at scale.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with executive visibility.
  • Strong business development and partnership management experience.
  • Experience developing seller-focused growth, adoption, or monetization programs.
