Job Title: People Operations Senior Associate
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused People Operations Senior Associate to join BSI's People Operations team.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality HR operational support within a shared services environment, helping ensure employees and managers receive accurate, timely, and employee-centric support across the full employee lifecycle.
You will manage HR processes including onboarding, employee data management, payroll coordination, offboarding, and employee queries, while also acting as a first point of escalation for more complex operational matters.
This role also provides day-to-day coaching and support to People Operations Associates, helping drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver HR services in line with established SLAs, processes, and service standards.
  • Manage employee lifecycle transactions including onboarding, contractual changes, and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation within HR systems.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries via shared inboxes, ticketing systems, or HR platforms.
  • Act as a first point of escalation for more complex HR operational queries and issues.
  • Prepare and validate payroll inputs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Run standard HR data reports and support audit or compliance activities where required.
  • Provide first-line support on routine HR policies, payroll, and benefits queries, escalating more complex employee relations matters appropriately.
  • Support administration of local benefits programmes where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across People Operations processes and employee experience.
  • Coach and support People Operations Associates, helping drive day-to-day operational excellence and development.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and People team colleagues across the business.
  • Support wider HR projects and operational initiatives as required.

What we're looking for
Essential
  • 5+ years of HR operations, HR shared services, or HR administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience working within HR systems, HCM platforms, or workflow/ticketing systems.
  • Experience managing or coaching others against operational KPIs or service standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and ability to apply sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business English proficiency.

Highly desirable
  • HR qualification or studies.
  • Experience within a shared services or global HR operations environment.
  • Exposure to employee relations triage or payroll administration processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or operational transformation initiatives.
