Job description

Position Title: Business Development Associate

Reports to: Sr. Director of Marketing

Status: Full Time

Description

The Business Development Associate is responsible for pursuing and generating new business leads, identifying points of contact within prospective customers, and nurturing leads into opportunities. They will conduct research to identify prospective customers, utilize written communication and cold calls to access organizations, and assertively pursue leads to secure initial contact and establish relationships with new customers.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify potential customers using prospecting databases, social media, networking, tradeshow and other methods. 
  • Qualify/disqualify inbound leads from marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to drive new opportunities and vigorously pursue initial customer contacts and meetings.
  • Effectively sell Viant’s capability and service offerings to prospective customers
  • Stay steadfast and overcome objections to set initial appointments and move prospects through the sales cycle. 
  • Work closely with marketing to nurture leads and follow up on cold leads.
  • Generate and maintain robust pipeline by consistently adding new prospects to the pipeline and driving consistent movement of prospects through the sales stages.
  • Prepare dashboards and present them to commercial leadership team.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of the competitive environment and other market conditions.
  • Regularly update and maintain leads in Salesforce/CRM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

Education/Certification

B.S. Degree in Engineering or Operations preferred 


Experience

1-3 years of business development and/or sales prospecting experience, including cold calling, researching, qualifying and nurturing leads, preferably within a B2B manufacturing environment.  Medical device experience a plus.

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to find new ways to create value.   
  • Operates with a bias to action, positive can-do attitude and resourcefully innovate in a lean and fluid organization.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn and sell a portfolio of engineered products.
  • Strong commercial aptitude, including ability to understand customer needs and requirements, identify solutions, build long-term dynamic relationships.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and ZoomInfo.

 

Travel

Approximately 20% travel
