Development Executive Assistant information

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

By 2030, roles such as data entry clerks and telemarketers are expected to decline due to automation and AI advancements. Development Executive Assistants may see some tasks automated through AI tools, but the core role involving coordination and communication will still require human oversight. Overall, jobs heavily reliant on routine tasks are most at risk of disappearing or transforming significantly.

Is EA a dead-end job?

A Development Executive Assistant role is typically an entry-level or support position that can serve as a stepping stone to higher roles in management, project coordination, or specialized areas. Career progression depends on experience, skills, and opportunities within the organization, and many EAs advance into more senior positions or related fields.

How does a Development Executive Assistant typically collaborate with fundraising and leadership teams?

A Development Executive Assistant often acts as a crucial liaison between development leadership, fundraising staff, and external stakeholders. They coordinate meetings, prepare briefing materials, and help manage donor correspondence to ensure smooth communication across departments. This role frequently involves tracking project timelines, supporting event logistics, and facilitating follow-ups, which requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Their support enables fundraising and leadership teams to focus on strategic initiatives while maintaining efficient daily operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Development Executive Assistant, and why are they important?

A Development Executive Assistant should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in administrative support, often backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with donor management systems (like Raiser's Edge), event planning software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is typically required. Excellent interpersonal communication, discretion, and the ability to multitask under pressure are crucial soft skills for excelling in this role. These competencies are vital for efficiently supporting fundraising initiatives, managing sensitive donor information, and ensuring seamless operations in a development or nonprofit environment.

What is the difference between Development Executive Assistant vs Fundraising Coordinator?

AspectDevelopment Executive AssistantFundraising Coordinator
CredentialsTypically requires administrative experience, familiarity with CRM tools, and sometimes a bachelor’s degree in business or related fieldsOften requires experience in fundraising, event planning, and communication skills, with a background in nonprofit or development work
Work EnvironmentSupports development teams within nonprofits or corporate social responsibility departments, working closely with executivesWorks directly on fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, and event coordination, often in nonprofit organizations

The Development Executive Assistant primarily provides administrative support to development executives, focusing on scheduling, correspondence, and database management. In contrast, the Fundraising Coordinator actively manages fundraising campaigns and donor relations. While both roles support development efforts, the Executive Assistant is more administrative, whereas the Coordinator is more campaign-focused.

What is the highest paid executive assistant job?

The highest paid executive assistants typically work in large corporations, finance, or technology sectors, earning salaries that can exceed $80,000 annually, especially with experience and specialized skills. Senior executive assistants supporting C-level executives or in high-cost-of-living areas may earn higher compensation, including bonuses and benefits.

What are Development Executive Assistants?

Development Executive Assistants are administrative professionals who support executives or directors in the development or fundraising department of an organization, often within nonprofits, education, or healthcare. Their responsibilities typically include managing schedules, coordinating meetings and events, preparing reports, maintaining donor databases, and assisting with fundraising campaigns. They play a crucial role in ensuring that development operations run smoothly, allowing the executive team to focus on strategic initiatives. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills are essential for success in this role.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A Development Executive Assistant typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized experience or skills. High-paying roles that can reach this level often involve sales, entrepreneurship, or freelance consulting, which rely on performance and network rather than formal degrees. Success in such roles depends on skills, industry demand, and individual performance.

Job description

Executive Assistant

At ReLogic Research, you won't be just another headcount. We're a tight-knit team of engineers, physicists, and technical professionals solving complex challenges in national defense - and we're looking for a highly organized, discreet Executive Assistant who takes pride in keeping leadership informed and operations running smoothly.

As an AS9100D-certified small business supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Missile Defense Agency, our C-suite operates across engineering, manufacturing, business development, and contracts simultaneously. This role exists to make that possible - ensuring that information reaching leadership is complete, accurate, and clearly organized for executive review, and that priorities flow clearly back to the organization.

The right candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled at pulling together the full picture before bringing items to leadership. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.

This is not a calendar-management-only executive assistant role. The ideal candidate enjoys organizing complexity and ensuring communication between leadership and the organization flows smoothly in both directions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support multiple C-suite executives with calendar management, scheduling, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders
  • Distill incoming operational updates, reports, and communications into concise, well-organized summaries with sufficient context for executive review
  • Proactively gather supporting information and context to ensure items brought to leadership are complete and ready for action
  • Communicate executive priorities, requests, and decisions clearly across the organization and follow up to ensure alignment and status visibility
  • Consolidate and maintain business development tracking including active proposals, key pursuits, deadlines, and status updates
  • Maintain and update candidate and hiring pipeline tracking, ensuring communications to leadership include role, status, and required actions clearly identified
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, and executive communications
  • Handle sensitive and confidential business, contractual, and personnel information with discretion and professionalism
  • Support internal communication between leadership and the broader organization

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting senior executives in a professional environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information clearly and concisely
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • High degree of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail in handling confidential business information
  • Strong follow-through and ability to proactively pull together complete, accurate information for executive review
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience supporting executives in a defense, government contracting, or highly regulated environment
  • Experience tracking business development pipelines, proposals, or government contract schedules
  • Experience working with or within Japanese companies or organizations is a plus, particularly in environments emphasizing professionalism, business etiquette, attention to detail, and strong respect for executive time and communication

This is a full-time salaried position with highly competitive compensation based on experience and skills, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
