Overview:
Inovalon's Insights business unit is seeking a Senior Manager, Health Economics and Outcomes Research to join its Insights Business unit. The group works with life sciences companies and other healthcare sectors to quantify and communicate the real-world value of healthcare interventions and to align our clients' business strategies with the evidentiary demands of an increasingly value-driven marketplace. We are driven by deep subject matter expertise, differentiated and proprietary real-world data assets, and an emphasis on sound business strategy coupled with rigorous research and advanced analytic capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) projects with life sciences clients including but not limited to the development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans, basic programming and analysis of healthcare claims data, interpretation of results, and/or development of summary findings and strategies (i.e., client deliverables). Project types may include retrospective claims database analysis, economic modeling, literature reviews, evidence gap assessments, or similar themes
  • Manage multiple mid to large-sized projects and teams to ensure the breadth of Inovalon's knowledge and expertise is available to meet client needs
  • Conceptualize the scope of projects for clients, assembling a cross-functional team, and overseeing the team from project initiation through to client delivery
  • Demonstrate advanced subject matter expertise to solve complex client problems, with an emphasis on translating qualitative and quantitative research findings into clients' value-oriented business strategies
  • Engage clients with novel solutions and ideas; deepens client relationships
  • Contribute to project profitability
  • Create both strategic and tactical recommendations for clients
  • Make meaningful business development and sales contributions
  • Write Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Solve complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with minimal management oversight
  • Mentor, supervise, and train staff members
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum four (4) years' relevant experience; consulting experience preferred;
  • Prior experience in a healthcare consulting, advisory services, or within a life sciences company is strongly preferred;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to executives and technical and non-technical audiences within and outside of the firm;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word;
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical product and medical device development cycle, including the role of HEOR, is preferred but not required;
  • Advanced consulting and project management acumen;
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills that translate into positive relationships with colleagues and clients; and
  • Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in health economics/HEOR, health policy, public policy, healthcare management, public health, public administration, business administration, law, or relevant discipline.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$112,600-$145,000 USD
