We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Development Director (DD) to lead and grow our fundraising efforts in support of two Learning Centers and an Adult Day Center. This is a key leadership role that directly impacts our ability to serve the community and expand our programs.

Position Overview

The Development Director partners closely with the CEO and serves as a member of the Executive Management Team. This role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that ensures long-term sustainability and growth.

The DD leads all development initiatives, including grants, donor relations, campaigns, events, and marketing efforts.


What You'll Do

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic, measurable Fund Development Plan
  • Research, write, and manage grant proposals and funding opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all grant reporting requirements
  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and major events
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and public funding sources
  • Identify and grow major gift opportunities
  • Represent the organization through public speaking and community engagement
  • Oversee marketing and communications in partnership with the Public Relations Coordinator
  • Strengthen community partnerships and visibility
  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgment and stewardship practices
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership and the Board

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5–6 years of professional experience, preferably in nonprofit development
  • Proven success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems
  • Financial and budgeting experience preferred
