Job description

Business Development Associate
The Business Development Team directly supports the Select Event Group Branch Network across our Tenting, Structures, and Flooring, as well as Rentals, Linens, and Furnishings Divisions. This role is primarily focused on generating new business within an assigned territory through strategic market penetration and conversion efforts. The Business Development Executive strengthens the Branch Network by filling the pipeline with new revenue opportunities and executing targeted business development strategies. This position works collaboratively with Account Executives, General Managers, Directors, and the Corporate Team to identify and secure new clients, contributing to the overall achievement of revenue goals. This position will report to the Laurel office or one of our branch locations. This role offers a competitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities, aligned with revenue contribution.
Core Accountabilities
Brand Ambassador:
  • Promote Select's brand and alert team members and supervisors if the brand is compromised in any way.
  • Embody Select's Core Values in all aspects of the role.
  • Utilize the CRM as required, creating a database of all local players and opportunities.
  • Participate in local networks in person and through social media to ensure we have a voice 'at the table' when event opportunities arise.
  • Provide team members with market intelligence and offer ideas to improve our approach to market dominance.

Penetration and Conversion:
  • Support local Branches in designated sales territory to ensure each is on track to meet or exceed revenue targets by scouting and converting new business opportunities.
  • Guided by standardized Business Development strategies, create a personalized approach to client touchpoints via email, cold calls, and in-person meetings, targeting client conversion.
  • Conduct independent lead generation to identify new business opportunities, regularly vetting lead list for warm and cold leads to ensure pipeline sustainability.
  • Use product knowledge to showcase the solutions that our company can offer to prospects, upselling additional products as needs arise.
  • Use database CRM, and other available systems to track progress with new prospects and establish pipeline overview.
  • Attend networking and community events to generate leads.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of clients when a revenue-generating opportunity is identified and the client is ready to place an order by training the receiving Account Executive on the client's needs, expectations, and best practices.
