Job description


FT| Monday - Friday| 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. | $21.76 per hour
Job Summary: You will oversee classroom teaching staff, the daily activities of the classroom, and responsible for implementing The Head Start Standards that ensure an educational program that is developmentally appropriate and congruent with the Programs School Readiness Goals. You will report to the Childcare Center Manager.
Primary Tasks:
  1. You will manage and train classroom teaching staff and delegate assignments. Responsible for monitoring, and oversight of classroom staff, daily activities, lesson plans, classroom schedules, attendance reports, educational observations, and screening and assessments.
  2. Assure that all practices and activities are following the OKDHS Licensing Requirements.
  3. Prepare and implement lesson plans and posted daily schedule that address all developmental areas and are inclusive of children with disabilities.
  4. Conduct developmental screenings. Use curriculum to individualize for each child, and work with each child on their individual developmental level.
  5. You will plan parent teacher conferences to discuss each child's strengths, challenges, outcomes and progress on their individual needs.
  6. Maintain Child Staff ratio safety, guidance and continuity of care to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the group, and incorporate learning at mealtimes.
  7. Observe, document, and maintain records of each child and reporting, daily attendance, meal counts, daily health and safety checks and any accident or abuse reports.
  8. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in early childhood or 2 years' work experience in an early childhood setting
  • Must have or be in the process of obtaining Child Development Associate (CDA); if no CDA, must be willing to sign a contract
  • Must be willing to attend required training and travel.
  • The physical requirements of the job that may include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license for appropriate vehicle with a clean driving record
  • Two (2) years' experience working with children
