What is a developer relations manager?

Developer Relations Managers, often called DevRel Managers, are professionals who build and nurture relationships between a company and its developer community. They act as a bridge by advocating for developers' needs within the company and helping external developers understand and effectively use the company's products. Their responsibilities often include organizing events, creating technical content, providing feedback to product teams, and fostering a vibrant developer ecosystem. Ultimately, their goal is to enhance developer satisfaction and engagement, which can drive product adoption and innovation.

How does a developer relations manager typically collaborate with product and engineering teams?

As a Developer Relations Manager, you'll frequently act as a bridge between external developer communities and internal product or engineering teams. You'll relay developer feedback, advocate for user needs, and help prioritize feature requests based on community trends. Collaboration often involves participating in sprint meetings, drafting technical documentation, and co-hosting workshops or webinars with engineers to ensure alignment. This cross-functional teamwork is essential for building trust with both the developer community and internal stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a developer relations manager, and why are they important?

Familiarity with technical tools such as GitHub, documentation platforms, and community management systems is common, along with experience in public speaking or content creation. Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills help you engage developer communities and advocate for their needs internally. Job description

Who we are
Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.
Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We're changing that.
Atoms builds Physical AI- real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.
This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don't just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.
We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.
If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.
About the role
Atoms is looking for a detail-oriented HR Generalist to serve as the administrative and operational backbone for our Kitchens, Picnic, and general HR teams. This role is designed for a professional with 2-4 years of experience who is eager to grow their skills in employee relations, manager enablement, and data-driven HR strategy. You will handle day-to-day HR operations, ticket management, and hourly employee escalations, moving the team from a reactive to a proactive operational model.
What you'll do
Employee Relations & Manager Enablement
  • Serve as the first point of contact for daily hourly employee escalations, resolving issues professionally.
  • Address employee concerns and grievances while providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the Director of HR to solve complex issues, build manager resources, and draft Performance Recovery Plans (PRPs).
  • Coach managers on performance-related issues and support performance evaluation processes.

HR Operations & Administration
  • Manage the daily HR ticketing queue, ensuring all SLAs are met.
  • Process voluntary terminations and facility pay changes with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to conduct regular hourly timekeeping audits.
  • Assist with wage equity analyses to ensure fair and compliant compensation across business units.

Reporting & Strategy
  • Optimize HR reporting processes and utilize data to identify trends in turnover and performance.
  • Support strategic workforce planning and talent development initiatives alongside business leaders.
  • Identify areas for improvement in employee engagement and organizational productivity.

What we're looking for
  • 2-4 years of HR experience.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage complex employee relations and professional conflict resolution.
  • Experience with HRIS, ticketing systems, and payroll software.

Why join us
At Atoms, you'll work on one of the defining challenges of our time-bringing automation into the physical world to drive real, lasting impact. The work is ambitious and often challenging, but it's grounded in a shared sense of purpose and a team committed to seeing it through together.
