Job description

Job Title: Engineering Director, Commercial Nuclear Services Location: Wilmington, North Carolina Type: Contract – possible conversion Compensation: Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance:

Responsibilities • Manages all engineering activities performed by AtkinsRealis US Nuclear on New Nuclear and engineering projects as assigned. • Manages assigned portions of engineering project budget. • Provides direction and oversight of delivery of engineering services and deliverables for engineering portfolio in accordance with quality, cost and schedule goals. • Responsible for developing and implementing approved Engineering Plans for projects, or phases of the projects. • Ensures the overall project design change control and configuration management, ensuring the design is defined, controlled and verified. • Responsible for technical integration and interface control both within the project across the various disciplines involved, and with the client. • Responsible for the selection and review for suitability of application the design methods, materials, parts, equipment, and processes essential to safety and performance. • Ensures qualified and appropriate staff are working on the project and are assigned work within their experience and skills. • Provides coaching to team members and performance feedback to the Project Manager. • Executes the Design Authority function as required and as delegated. • Manages technical deliverables budget, schedule, and quality. • Monitors the technical quality of engineering deliverables. • Ensures final deliverables meet customer requirements and comply with nuclear code and standards. • Reviews and approves key technical documentation. • Interfaces with various project stakeholders, including Project Director, Procurement Manager, Manufacturing Manager, NSSS Vendor, DesignBuilder, Construction Manager, and Site Engineering Manager. • Liaises with external client engineering organization as needed.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering. • Professional Engineering (PE) License or Senior Reactor Operator License, Certification, or Advanced Plant Systems training. • Minimum of 15 years industry-related experience. • Minimum of 10 years supporting commercial nuclear projects. • Minimum of 10 years in a leadership position. • Successful management experience with demonstrated technical and management abilities. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to review work products critically and provide mentorship. • Constructive interaction with internal and external customers. • Self-starter with minimal supervision ability. • Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, and tracking initiatives. • Broad understanding of multidisciplinary team building and maintenance. • Must be U.S. Citizen.
