JOB PURPOSE:


Serve as a key member of Delcon's operational success, responsible for both preconstruction estimating and active project management. This role collaborates closely with clients, general contractors, engineers, designers, and field teams to assemble accurate proposals and execute projects with excellence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Estimator and Project Manager will accurately and efficiently estimate new projects, maintain accurate project schedules and ensure projects operate within budget. The Estimator and Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager. The specific and critical job duties include:


Preconstruction & Estimating:

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
  • Provide clear, detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns. 
  • Maintain and manage current plan sets and addendums.
  • Organize and negotiate sub-contractor quotations ensuring alignment with contract documents. 
  • Produce and maintain accurate schedules and budgets.
  • Maintain unit pricing and material/labor databases.
  • Support engineers and designers as needed to achieve project goals.

Project Management:

  • Monitor progress, requisition change orders, and identify any potential risks.
  • Track and update project schedules and budgets in the current software platform. 
  • Price, enter, and send change orders in coordination with estimating team.
  • Ensure field teams have current, accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate daily with the construction operations team and purchasing.
  • Attend weekly EOS meetings and bi-weekly project update meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance to field workers.
  • Ensure submittals are produced and submitted.
  • Reprice projects as necessary due to scope changes.
  • Nurture and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.
  • Additional duties and projects as requested and assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or 10+ years' experience in construction trades with 5+ years in trades or project management.
  • Preferred: 1-3 years of experience in estimating, project management, electrical installation, or design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: communicate with others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move; use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work both in an office and field setting. This position will require travel to multiple work sites on a regular basis as the need arises.
  • This position is located in Jackson, WY with occasional travel. 
  • This FLSA exempt position may be requested to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
