Engineering Intern - Manufacturing Engineering

Position Summary
The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Maintenance teams in improving manufacturing processes, supporting capital projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a high-volume cabinet manufacturing facility. This role provides hands-on experience in industrial engineering, automation, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing engineers with process improvement and productivity projects
  • Assist with time studies, labor standard validation, and efficiency analysis
  • Help develop and update standard work and process documentation
  • Support capital equipment projectsincluding layout development and implementation
  • Assist with AutoCAD layouts and facility planning updates
  • Participate in Gemba walks and SQDP board reviews
  • Help identify and implement safety and ergonomic improvements
  • Assist engineering team with equipment trials and validation runs
  • Support data collection and analysisfor continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues alongside maintenance and operations
  • Help maintain engineering project tracking and documentation
  • Support 3D printing and innovation lab projectswhen applicable
  • Assist with equipment PM documentation and asset tracking updates
  • Work with supervisors and operators to identify improvement opportunities
  • Participate in lean initiatives such as 5S and waste reduction projects
