About Us: Asheville Detox Center was founded by individuals in recovery who have first-hand experience in receiving addiction treatment and have developed a specialized model of care that incorporates techniques that work while eliminating those that do not. Overall, our focus is on providing excellent care while maintaining a fun, calming environment for clients and staff alike. We are looking for nurses who share the same compassion and empathy as we do.

Position Overview: As a nurse at Asheville Detox Center, you will be responsible for ensuring clients optimal comfort and safety. This is done via vital assessments, medical record analysis, medication management, and efficient fulfillment of client needs. This is a PRN position.

Requirements

Core Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management. 
  • Facilitate COWS, CIWA, vital assessments every four hours for clients. 
  • Complete intake nursing assessments. 
  • Administer medication including those for detox protocols, psychiatric care, and medical conditions. 
  • Facilitate medical orders. 
  • Interpret Urinalysis results and provide reports for client's medical records. 
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements. Maintain clear, professional and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times. 
  • Quickly respond in the case of a medical emergency, following facility protocols. 
  • Participate in all provided, required training, as outlined by facility protocol, Joint Commission standards and other local, state, and federal regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, observations, and incidents in electronic health records. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including counselors, medical and support staff as needed, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. 
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facility.Â
