Koniag IT Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Senior Windows Desktop Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance to provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and systems administration across enterprise Windows environments. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. The Senior Windows Desktop Administrator will perform advanced systems administration, troubleshooting, and operational support for Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related applications. This role includes responding to user tickets, resolving outages, supporting COTS and GOTS applications, conducting hardware/software diagnostics, and assisting with facility stand โ€‘ ups and tear โ€‘ downs. The administrator will ensure timely issue resolution, maintain documentation, coordinate with support agencies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to resolve complex hardware, software, and application issues while supporting mission โ€‘ critical operations. Key responsibilities include: * Perform systems administration and troubleshooting - Resolve user tickets, outages, and technical issues across Windows desktop environments. * Support COTS and custom applications - Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial and government โ€‘ developed applications. * Analyze and test hardware/software - Evaluate issues reported by customers and validate fixes. * Support facility stand โ€‘ ups and tear โ€‘ downs - Assist with installation, security configuration, and breakdown of IT systems for new or retired facilities. * Mitigate security issues - Apply patches, configuration changes, and remediation steps as required. * Document and escalate tickets - Ensure all troubleshooting steps are recorded; escalate fully documented issues when necessary. * Prepare activity and progress reports - Maintain accurate records of support actions and resolutions. * Coordinate across support agencies - Track escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer issues. Education and Experience Requirements: * Active TS/SCI Clearance * Associate's degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience. * 5+ years of experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for Windows environments. * Experience supporting hardware, software, and peripheral devices in enterprise environments. * Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems. * Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance (active clearance preferred). Required Skills and Competencies: * Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal). * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and understand user issues. * Working knowledge of ServiceNow ticket creation, updates, and closure. * Strong understanding of computer terminology and troubleshooting methodologies. * Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows hardware and software. * Ability to document issues thoroughly and escalate when appropriate. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes. * One or more industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+ (Security+ required within 6 months). Preferred Skills: * Experience as a Network Administrator or Systems Administrator. * Experience supporting servers and enterprise โ€‘ level Windows environments. * Experience with cable creation, testing, loopbacks, and equipment installation. * Familiarity with RF, VTC, or communications systems (if applicable to program). * Experience providing IT training to end users. * Strong ability to lead with integrity, collaborate effectively, and contribute to a positive team environment.
