Front Desk First Semester Intern (Unpaid)

Reports to:New Altitude Director of Operations

FLSA:Non-exempt

Type: : Part Time, 2.5 hour weekly shift

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a detail-oriented and friendly Office Support Associate to help keep our office running smoothly and create a welcoming environment for New Altitude Members, guests of members, and staff. This role focuses on maintaining breakrooms and meeting spaces, assisting with deliveries, and providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions - Front Desk

Front Desk & Guest Support

  • Greet guests, visitors, and staff as they enter the lobby
  • Direct guests to meeting rooms or appropriate staff
  • Assist guests with getting settled in meeting rooms
  • Provide a welcoming, professional front desk presence
  • Answer basic questions and know when to escalate questions to a supervisor

Administrative Support

  • Assist with basic data entry tasks
  • Support administrative projects as assigned
  • Follow established procedures for front desk operations

Lobby & Workspace Upkeep

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby
  • Perform routine lobby clean-up throughout the shift
  • Restock front desk supplies as needed

Security & Closing Support

  • Follow front desk safety and security procedures
  • Assist with ensuring doors are properly shut and locked when directed
  • Support opening and closing duties under supervision

Marketing & Engagement Support

  • Assist with recording short videos for internal or staff communication
  • Help with seasonal or event-related content as assigned
  • Engage with company social media posts when directed

Seasonal & Special Projects

  • Assist with seasonal decorating (e.g., holidays, events)
  • Support special projects based on organizational needs

Learning & Development

  • Learn front desk systems and tools (OfficeRnd, HubSpot, Mailchimp)
  • Participate in training and mentorship provided by paid interns or staff
  • Receive feedback and apply it to daily responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Minimum Work Experience: Six months of customer service, hospitality or facility support experience is preferred but not required.

Material and Equipment Directly Used:Computers/tablets, Printers, Copy Machines, Cleaning materials, standard office equipment, desks, tables, chairs, some Cloud based systems and software, etc.

Working Environment:Office, commercial properties, and interaction with in person work environments. Frequent and continual standing, sitting, walking, reading, and writing occur with this position.

Physical Activities: Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds regularly (i.e. tables, chairs, desks), and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to push and pull heavy objects using appropriate equipment, such as dollies or hand trucks of up to 50 pounds. Must follow proper lifting techniques to avoid injury, including bending at the knees and keeping the load close to the body.Must be comfortable and able to walk distances throughout the office and stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
