Title of Position: Welcome Desk/Climbing Wall/Child Care Attendant

Welcome Desk
Function of Position:
Welcome patrons of The W and assist them with any needs they may have during their visit.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and check-in Wellness Center members.
  • Enroll new members and modify existing memberships.
  • Collect money for purchases and membership dues.
  • Enroll patrons in classes at The W and for recreational programs.
  • Check out equipment to members.
  • Answer any questions patrons may have about the facility.
  • Check out keys to staff members.
  • Assist individuals who encounter an injury and complete the proper paperwork if an incident/accident occurs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current CPR/AED, and First Aid Certifications

Child Care Attendant
Function of Position:
Provide safe supervision of the W members' children that come into the childcare room.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe supervision of the W members' children that come into the childcare room. Entertain children from ages 6 months old to 7 years old.
  • Do AM and PM counts per sign in and sign out sheets, checking member IDs each time.
  • Provide customer service to the W members and their children and answer questions as needed.
  • Perform daily duties and expectations explained in the childcare manual while also adhering to the W rules.
  • Show flexibility in assisting others with their shifts.
  • Be responsible when opening and closing the room (i.e. MWF 8:00 am to 11 am and 4:00 pm to 7 pm)
  • Clean the room after each shift.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens Certifications
  • Knowledge of the various age groups of children (6 months to 7 years old).
  • Proper hygiene required.

Climbing Wall Attendant
Function of Position:
Oversee equipment and activity at the Climbing Wall.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Pick-up key to climbing wall room and request climbing wall lights be turned on.
  • Check out climbing wall equipment, such as harnesses, helmets, and shoes, upon a patron's presentation of a receipt.
  • Oversee activity at the climbing wall with an emphasis on safety.
  • Assist individuals who encounter an injury and complete the proper paperwork if an incident/accident occurs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Belay Certification
  • Current CPR/AED, and First Aid Certifications
