Job description

Reports into: Head of Design
Job Summary: Rag & Bone is looking for an individual who will be responsible for defining and executing the design vision for Black Label — the brand's refined, tailored lifestyle end-use — and overseeing the design and development of the Wovens line, under the direction of the Design Director.
Responsibilities:
  • Research: Provide trend & vintage research based on seasonal inspiration and brand lifestyle direction
  • Design: Responsible for original sketches, color-ups, and material suggestions for RTW Outerwear, Tailoring, Non-Denim Bottoms, and Shirting categories – based on design direction.
  • Development: Direct techpack/design sheet preparation completed by the design assistant, ensuring hand-offs are accurate & clear for the technical design team. Additionally oversees seasonal trim design & development.
  • Fitting: Attend weekly fittings from prototype-production - ensuring fit, construction, and material accuracy at each product stage
  • Presentation: Work with Head of Design to present design concepts at sketch, prototype, and SMS stages. Can clearly communicate their inspiration & ideas to both internal design team, Creative Director, and cross-functional partners.
  • Organization: Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital versions); keeping boards consistently updated after meetings & fittings.
  • Collaboration: Drive the Black Label design vision through cross-functional peers in merchandising, product development, and tech design to ensure brand alignment
  • Teamwork: Support design team as needed to organize and prep for meetings, ie: sketch reviews, proto reviews, market reviews – using key dates and calendar set up by the Head of Design

Requirements: (skills, qualifications, education, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, or related field experience
  • Creative thinker with a passion for menswear
  • Must have proficient technical knowledge of Wovens product (outerwear, tailoring, bottoms, shirting)
  • Strong understanding of textiles, materials, and trims
  • Must be extremely organized, have ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Miro a plus
