Job description

Position Summary:
Responsible for all functions related to teller operations and teller area. Responsible for the management of all cash in the office. Directs and trains teller personnel and receptionist.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements in addition to all state and federal laws and regulations, including Regulation CC, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Educate members on various credit union policies, procedures and related laws and regulations where applicable.
  • Direct and train teller personnel and front desk duties.
  • Maintain the cash vault. Count, verify and package currency and coin for shipment. Place orders for cash.
  • Resolve member problems and approve exceptions. May authorize service fee refunds when appropriate.
  • Cross-sell credit union products and services when possible.
  • Oversee maintenance and settlement of the ATM where applicable.
  • Oversee maintenance and settlement of the CDM/TRCs where applicable.
  • Investigate teller losses and institute corrective action.
  • Prove branch daily work.
  • May process selected payroll postings. Research and adjust payroll/transfer deposit problems.
  • Provide assistance to tellers with questions they are unable to answer.
  • Perform all duties of a teller when necessary.
  • Conduct monthly audits of all teller drawers, vaults, ATMs and cash dispensing machines where applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Essential Functions:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds (coin bags) and carrying it 15 feet is frequently required. Normal lifting up to 10 pounds is occasionally required
  • Extended sitting of up to 70% of the time
  • Bending, reaching above or below shoulder level is occasionally required
  • Twisting may be frequently required
  • Some exposure to dust and/or extreme noise levels may occasionally apply.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations/concepts involving decimals and percentages)
  • Ability to use PC software and office equipment.
  • Knowledge of credit union policies and procedures related to the operation of the teller area.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Occasional travel and irregular hours may be required
  • Must be bondable
