Legend Brands is hiring for a Design Engineer at our Arlington WA satellite location. The Design Engineer is responsible for overseeing large Truck Mount manufacturing project management, which involves initial investigation of viability, cost, initial design, product research and prelim testing.  This position is unique, we are looking for a candidate that has not only design abilities, but mechanical and manufacturing experience as well.

Essential Duties

  • Follows product development process
  • Finalizes the initial concept to an Alpha Prototype design using all the same resources
  • Aids in refinement process of the initial prototype, incorporation into production, and customer acceptance
  • Manages Beta process for ground up designs or Preproduction process
  • Conducts all final testing with thorough documentation in drawings, manuals, and kit instructions
  • Manages full project documentation (Schedule/Logs/Test Data/Requirements/Statement of Work/Project Approval SS/ ETC) for each project
  • Designs CAD equipment based on project pillar requirements supplied by management and PDC for cfm required - (recovery), water pressure (psi) water volume (gpm)
  • Assists in final production implementation
  • Responds to Vendor and Customer interactions, as needed
  • Creates Engineering Change Orders. Provides Testing / Data Acquisition
  • Completes Proto Fabrication and Design. Assembles prototypes and test samples
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or design related to products required (This is not an IT job)

  • Must have proficiency computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, D365 (or equivalent MRP)
  • Must have proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Strong aptitude for creating detailed blueprints and instructions
  • Must be able  to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interact with customers via phone and in-person
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and be understood
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be driven and goal oriented and willing to take on new challenges and see them through

Design Engineer I

is intended for individuals with a minimum of 1-2 years related work experience.  Requires knowledge and competent demonstration of the following within 6 months of hire:

  • Understanding in Legend Brands Design Process
  • MS Project

Design Engineer II

is intended for individuals with a minimum of 5 years related work experience.  Requires working knowledge and competent demonstration of the following in addition to the requirements for Design Engineer I:

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of engineering and design principles
  • Must understand CAD drawings, bill of materials (MRP), SolidWorks, and PDM Vault
  • Organize plans and create schedules using MS Project
  • Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for design

Hiring Range 
$80.2K - $97K DOE
