Based in Montreal and established in 2007, Stymiest & Associates is a consulting firm specializing in process optimization. We help organizations in high-stakes sectors achieve excellence through process improvement, analytics, and automation.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Solution Design Consultant to join our growing team. This is a dynamic role for an experienced individual who excels at bridging the gap between complex business challenges and scalable, technology-driven solutions.

The role operates across the full solution lifecycle-from understanding business needs to architecting and delivering production-ready systems. We are looking for an individual with strong technical expertise, client-facing confidence, and the ability to lead both strategically and hands-on when required.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure

  • Lead deployment strategies and environment management across development, testing, and production
  • Configure and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity/access management
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows
  • Support solution architecture decisions for AI-enabled and operational applications
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support delivery teams in resolving blockers
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate developers
  • Contribute to technical standards, deployment practices, and system governance
  • Translate business and operational requirements into technical solution approaches
  • Participate in client workshops and technical solution discussions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical scope, priorities, and deliverables
  • Support technical estimation and input for Statements of Work (SOWs) and proposals
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, DevOps, or solution architecture
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience deploying and maintaining web applications and APIs
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, infrastructure, and deployment practices
  • Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate independently and lead technical decision-making

Preferred

  • Experience working with or delivering AI-enabled applications or OpenAI integrations
  • Experience working within consulting or professional services environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform or SharePoint integrations
  • Familiarity with React, Node.js, Python, or modern web frameworks
  • Experience with operational systems or enterprise workflow tools
  • Exposure to Power BI or data visualization environments
  • Communication skills in French are encouraged

Profile

  • Charismatic, confident, and comfortable in client-facing environments
  • Able to operate independently with ownership and accountability
  • Balances strategic thinking with execution
  • Grounded in technical expertise, with a strong or emerging product mindset
  • Pragmatic in applying AI, focused on real business impact
  • High attention to quality and takes responsibility for ensuring deliverables are accurate, reliable, and compliant with technical standards
