The Role


The CAD/BIM Designer IV is a highly experienced design professional responsible for overseeing complex digital modeling, drafting, and coordination efforts across large-scale architectural and engineering projects. This role involves leading multi-disciplinary design coordination, implementing advanced modeling techniques, and setting standards to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across projects. The CAD/BIM Designer IV plays a key leadership role within the design team, providing expertise, guidance, and support to junior designers while managing challenging and high-stakes design tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of detailed and highly complex 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models, preparing construction documents, technical drawings, and digital representations that meet all project requirements.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary coordination within CAD/BIM environments, integrating architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other models into a unified and cohesive project design.
  • Set, enforce, and monitor CAD/BIM standards and best practices across all design stages, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
  • Provide expert-level guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate designers, assisting with technical challenges, training on best practices, and ensuring consistent quality.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements, resolve design issues, and make necessary adjustments to models and documentation.
  • Conduct advanced quality control reviews on CAD/BIM deliverables, verifying accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards, regulatory codes, and project specifications.
  • Develop and implement workflows that enhance efficiency and ensure seamless integration of CAD/BIM processes across large-scale projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex design and software issues, assisting with problem-solving across the design team.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, visualizations, and 3D renderings for client and stakeholder meetings, ensuring that design intent and technical details are effectively communicated.
  • Stay updated on advancements in CAD/BIM technologies, processes, and industry standards, implementing new tools and techniques to improve design quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications


Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or certification in CAD, BIM, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in CAD/BIM design, with significant experience on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Preferred

  • Advanced certification in AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within CAD/BIM design teams.
