CAD Drafter/Designer

On-Site - Lincoln, NE


EBM Corporations is seeking a detaildriven and innovative full-time CAD Drafter/Designer to support the design and development of agricultural facilities, buildings, structures, and mechanical components. In this role, you will transform project concepts into precise technical drawings and 3D models, contributing to both new product development and the improvement of existing designs.
The successful candidate will work closely with owners, project coordinators, estimators, and production teams, you will play a key role from early design through final drafting through refining concepts, resolving design challenges, and ensuring accuracy at every stage. This position is ideal for a selfmotivated professional who thrives on collaboration, enjoys problemsolving, and takes pride in producing highly accurate technical plans.


A. General Summary of the Position

Prepare detailed drawings architectural designs and plans for agricultural facilities, buildings and structures, as well as working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices. The project drafter provides design efforts from inception through production both in new product design and in existing product redesign.

B. Essential Functions

1. Review job scope of work to obtain understanding of what will be involved in each job. Work closely with the owner, project coordinators and estimators to prioritize your duties. Communicate daily regarding your progress.

2. Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment to produce designs, blueprints, charts, forms, records and proposals for new construction or repair/remodel projects according to customer needs.

3. Confer with manufacturing managers, project managers and other personnel to define and solve production/design problems, issues and improvements.

4. Refine and complete designs after design review meetings.


C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Excellent working knowledge of computer software including AutoCAD, AutoDesk 3D Studio Max Design, SolidWorks, Excel and Word.

2. Excellent working knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Detail oriented.

3. Excellent communication skills - reading/writing/verbal English; the ability to explain to others how devices, parts, equipment or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained or used.

4. Competent math skills, specifically geometry and unit conversion.

5. Good decision-making skills that take into consideration relative costs and benefits to answer questions, address complaints and resolve problems.

6. Ability to actively listen, taking time to understand and ask questions.

7. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to accomplish specific goals. Be self-motivated and manage time wisely.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

D. Education, Training and Experience

1. AutoCAD, Autodesk or SolidWorks preferred.

E. Work Context

1. Regularly spend time in an office environment, sitting at computer. Occasionally travel to visit job sites to compile measurements as necessary, sometimes out of state as well.

2. Requires regular contact with supervisor, project coordinators, co-workers and occasionally the owners and administration via face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, text, etc.

3. Important to maintain a high degree of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.

4. Requires independence and dependability to make sure projects get done, as well as cooperation with others inside and outside the department.

5. Requires good stress tolerance; accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.


F. Special Requirements


1. Must pass General Physical and Drug Screen.

2. Must be 18 years' old or older.
