Job Title: Interior Designer / Design Studio Designer

Location: Royal Texan Homes, LLC

Department: Design Studio

Reports To: Design Studio Manager


Position Overview:

Royal Texan Homes, LLC is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Design Studio Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with new home buyers to help them select and customize design elements that align with their vision for their new home. This is a highly collaborative role that offers a unique opportunity to engage with clients and work on a variety of design-related projects from start to finish.


Key Responsibilities:

1. New Buyer Design Meetings

  • Conduct design meetings with new home buyers to guide them through the selection process for their new home.
  • Provide expert advice on design options, helping clients choose finishes, materials, colors, and other design elements that align with their preferences and budget.
  • Ensure all selections are accurately documented and that clients receive a seamless, enjoyable experience throughout the design process.
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach, helping clients visualize their design ideas and make informed decisions.

2. Inventory/Model Home Selections

  • Curate and choose new model home selections, finishes, furniture, ensuring they are stylish, cohesive, and representative of the style and aesthetic of a Royal Texan.

3. Order Cabinet Designs

  • Work closely with clients and the custom cabinet subcontractor to coordinate cabinet designs for new home builds, ensuring selections align with client preferences, and project scope.
  • Review and verify cabinet designs, layouts, and specifications with clients before approving final orders to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

4. Product Knowledge Maintenance

  • Stay up to date on new design products, trends, and technologies in the homebuilding and interior design industries.
  • Educate clients on product options and their benefits, helping them make informed decisions based on their design needs and lifestyle preferences.

5. Field Support

  • Provide on-site design support during the construction phase of new homes, ensuring that selected design elements are accurately implemented based on client approved selections.
  • Assist with troubleshooting design-related issues during construction, ensuring client selections are reflected in the final build.
  • Attend site visits as necessary to maintain quality control, review installations, and verify that the design vision is being executed correctly.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a design-related role.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in interior design, design studio, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of residential design trends, materials, finishes, and design principles.
  • Experience working with home buyers or customers in a consultative design role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients, team members, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
