Olsten is hiring an Interior Designer/Decorator Assistant
Designer Assistant Parttime 25-30 hrs a week
The Interior Designer's Assistant supports the lead designer in the planning, development, and execution of design projects. This role involves administrative support, research, coordination of materials, client communication, and assistance with creative tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Support
  • Assist the designer in developing concepts, sketches, layouts, and presentations.
  • Conduct research on design trends, colors, materials, and market developments.
  • Help source fabrics, materials, furniture, graphics, or other design components.
  • Maintain design files and project documentation keeping subs on schedule.
Project Coordination
  • Track project timelines and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and site visits.
  • Monitor project progress and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals and presentations.
Administrative Duties
  • Manage correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
  • Organize and maintain office records and digital files.
  • Process orders, invoices, and purchase requests.
  • Maintain inventory of samples, supplies, and design materials.
  • Perform general office administrative tasks as required.
Client Support
  • Assist with client presentations and meetings.
