Project Manager - Substation Design
FindTalent is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee substation design projects ranging from 12-kV to 500-kV. In this role, you will lead and coordinate all aspects of greenfield and brownfield substation projects, including switching stations and collector stations. The Project Manager is responsible for project success, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead substation design projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all project goals are met.
  • Manage all phases of the project including siting, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, procurement, and construction management.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor scope, and control project costs.
  • Prepare proposals, participate in contract negotiations, and support business development efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Implement project policies, procedures, and controls to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Oversee project documentation, reporting on progress, budget, and potential risks.
  • Lead efforts in risk management, change management, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure all work aligns with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in utility substation projects, with at least 3 years in project management.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
