This opportunity offers a full-time career-oriented position with our growing and dynamic team of municipal infrastructure professionals. We are seeking an Civil Project Manager to continue to build our municipal infrastructure team, completing designs and assisting in project management for municipal clients across Ontario, with a focus in Simcoe County.

What a day at EXP has in store for you 

  • Demonstrate expertise in civil design for new infrastructure development and existing infrastructure rehabilitations, taking full responsibility for every detail of civil servicing design within proper drawing setups.
  • Prepare comprehensive civil design drawing packages accurately and proficiently, ensuring adherence to agency specifications, company standards, and client requirements. 
  • Proven experience and up to date with review agency requirements, including those from municipalities, regions, conservation authorities, and the MECP. 
  • Collaborate with clients across Simcoe County to effectively deliver solutions to engineering problems, unique to each municipality.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams (structural, electrical, geotechnical, environmental, etc.) and participate in client and stakeholder meetings to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Manage projects by tracking progress, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, proactively identifying and resolving technical or logistical challenges.
  • Contribute to proposal development, design briefs, and internal quality reviews, supporting business development and maintaining technical excellence.
  • Continual expanding of your knowledge and expertise through collaboration in a dynamic and innovative work environment.
  • Generation of material quantities, cost estimates, tender documents, and specifications, with a desire to expand knowledge in this area. 
  • Prepare conflict-free design with understanding of utility parameters through clash detection, ensuring effective utility coordination. 
  • Ensure timely and high-quality production of civil design drawings, start to finish, meeting established project timelines and standards. Fully responsible for design and production. 
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and public.
  • Act as EXP's on-site liaison between contractor, municipal client, and public while providing engineering review of construction, including field design where required. 
  • Strong critical thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and providing alternative solutions to challenges for successful project resolution. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and managing a team of drafters and designers to get drawing packages done accurately and on time. Develop models for water, stormwater, and wastewater piping systems, from initial concept through final implementation. 
  • Mentor and coordinate drafting and design efforts for junior staff, while facilitating collaboration and communication of design information with designers, project managers, CAD staff, and other team members and contributing to a positive workplace environment. 
  • Work on platforms like ProjectWise and ACC, enhancing project management and collaboration.
     

What your experience looks like 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree or college diploma with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in municipal Infrastructure Design, preferably with familiarity to Ontario standards, and local clients.4-6 years of active project management and proven track record of team management. 
  • Actively working toward or attained P.Eng, C.Tech or C.E.T. accreditation. 
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a mandatory requirement. Experience with additional design or project management software considered an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines across multiple projects. 
  • Experience with vertical facilities such as pump stations will be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of various design constraints (environmental, boundary limits, etc.) and the ability to assess the impact and provide mitigation measures for effective design. 
  • Familiarity with the layout and design of vertical infrastructure such as wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities, Stormwater Management Systems, etc.
  • Experience in applying local municipality and agency-specific design specifications and criteria, and the ability to apply these requirements to projects. 
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in all aspects of civil servicing, utility coordination and design. 
  • Previous on-site construction oversight experience considered an asset. 
  • Autodesk Certified Professional in Civil 3D is preferred. Experience with Bluebeam Studio software, and markup reviews preferred.
