Job Description

W.R. Grace is hiring Sr Project Manager to join the engineering team. The Sr Project Manager will be responsible for leading capital and engineering projects through the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Grace Project Management (GPM) stage-gate processes.

This role will oversee project scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and execution while collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. The Sr. Project Manager will also ensure compliance with engineering standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements while effectively communicating project progress, risks, and results to leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects consistent with the Grace Project Management (GPM) stage gate workflow.
  • Manage project scope, cost, schedule and quality to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure the project meets safety and quality standards in both design and execution.
  • Ensure the project is designed and installed using sound engineering principles and in accordance with national codes and standards as well as Grace Corporate wide procedures and standards.
  • Coordinate and manage changes to project scope or execution plan with project team, contractors, and capital project steering committee to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain organization to ensure that procurement plans are developed and executed in compliance with Grace Policies and applicable laws.
  • Effectively communicate project status, issues and risks to all stakeholders, including the executive leadership team.
  • Lead the review and evaluation of project management documents, specifications, design deliverables, equipment procurement and contracted services.
  • Ensure project deliverables and documents are retained, organized and delivered to the plant operations after the project has concluded.
  • Lead and participate in various project and kickoff meetings throughout project life cycle
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in project engineering and project management in the chemical manufacturing and/or petrochemical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing capital projects in a mature stage gate process environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute all phases of capital project management (front end design, project funding authorization, detail design, construction, commissioning, start-up, and close out).
  • Must have strong communication and inter-personal skills necessary to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time throughout the US.
  • Able to meet the requirement of being onsite during the key phases of the assigned project

  • Acting as an owners' representative within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously at different stages.
