Job description

Summit Design + Build is actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for someone with strong multi-family construction experience who can lead projects from start to finish and work closely with owners, consultants, and trade partners.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the construction process from preconstruction through closeout
  • Lead internal teams, including Project Engineers and Project Coordinators
  • Maintain constant communication with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Ensure projects stay on track with budgets, schedules, and quality standards
  • Support bid/estimating efforts, manage buyout, and oversee subcontractor selection
  • Lead weekly construction meetings and maintain safety and quality expectations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
  • 8–10 years of project management experience in multi-family/commercial construction
  • Strong multi-family project experience is required
  • Experience on large-scale projects (ex: $10M+ / $50M+) is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Chicago construction market is a plus
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Sage CRE 300, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred
