Dialectic Inc. is looking to bring on a Project Manager as a key member of the team. The Project Manager manages the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome and administers both the owner and subcontractor relationships to meet deadlines on a wide variety of project types including retail, commercial, restaurant, industrial, healthcare, cannabis, mixed-use and hospitality. The Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring staff. The position requires business management acumen and candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage MEP design projects for new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
  • Oversee projects and project programs to ensure quality and on-time delivery of projects to clients.
  • Coordinate project schedule with the client and applicable project stake holders.
  • Manage client service and project communication, maintaining proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project performance from start to finish to ensure project meets quality and budget expectations.
  • Provide coordination of project designs with outside consultants.
  • Direct internal design team to meet client specific requirements.
  • Provide review and feedback to the design team to maintain consistent client standards and project execution.
  • Follow firm's design processes, including guiding Kick-off meetings, Design meetings, and Premieres.
  • Anticipate, identify, and promptly address impediments that could impact performance, financials, or timing of project delivery.
  • Assist with contract negotiations, proposal creation in coordination with business development team.
  • Assist with obtaining signed contracts from client in coordination with business development team.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and projections for projects under PM's charge.
  • Review and mark up draft invoices accurately and pursue reasonable additional services when project scope changes occur.
  • Facilitate communication across different projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Recognize opportunities for and develop additional business with existing clients.
  • Communicate with the clients, owners, and contractors to create and maintain a positive engineering experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) or related industry.
  • 7 years of relevant MEP experience in commercial, retail, restaurant, and hospitality required, including at least 3 years of project management experience.
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & REVIT proficiency
  • Proficiency in project management standards and execution.
  • Knowledge and application of building design and construction principles.
  • Travel up to 15% as needed.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri with the opportunity to work hybrid up to 2 days at home and 3 in the office.
