Job description

ABOUT BEZOS ACADEMY

At Bezos Academy, we believe all children deserve the great start that excellent early education provides, including in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to nurture the potential in every child to become a creative leader, original thinker, and lifelong learner by inventing the solutions needed to scale early childhood education. We are a unique organization that realizes our mission in two ways. First, we operate a multi-state network of schools in under-resourced communities, offering quality Montessori-inspired preschool at no cost to families. Second, we create tools, products, technology, and other solutions designed to reach young children and their caregivers well beyond the walls of our schools. We aspire to have a profound, large-scale impact on children ages zero to five.

As the Design Operations Manager for a new direct-to-consumer initiative at Bezos Academy, you will help shape how a new product and brand come to life from the ground up. You will work across a multidisciplinary design team spanning product design, user research, brand and marketing, and content, helping bring cohesion to experiences across digital and physical touchpoints.

This is a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment where both the product and the way we design it are still being defined. In this role, you will support the design team's operations by bringing structure to ambiguity, anticipating what's needed ahead of time, and ensuring the team is set up to deliver thoughtful, high-quality work. You'll partner closely with the entire design team, as well as external partners, while collaborating with product and engineering to align priorities, shape timelines, and create clarity across complex initiatives. You'll ensure we operate effectively, look for ways to improve how we work, and explore new tools and approaches (including AI) to strengthen our design process.

  • This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 9 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. • Experience building or improving team workflows, systems, or processes in fast-paced environments
  • Strong experience using tools such as Asana, Bynder, GitLab, Jira, or similar systems to set up clear, scalable systems for tracking work, managing design assets, and delivering design work to engineering
