The Product Design Team Lead role at Rocket Money blends design leadership with handsโ€‘on design work. Weโ€™re looking for someone who is as passionate about leading and coaching designers as they are about staying close to the craft and making an impact on users through their own IC work.

In this role, you will be part of our Visibility and Spend Control (VSC) group โ€” responsible for the tools that help our users make sense of their finances and gain visibility into their spending. In essence, these are our core personal finance management features like Spending, Recurring, and Budgets (to name a few).

SPECIFICALLY YOU WILL
  • Partner with VSCโ€™s Group Product Manager and Engineering Director to set and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Champion quality and userโ€‘centered design principles across everything your team builds and ships.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of designers, fostering growth, collaboration, and excellence in design practices.
  • Design, prototype and ship experiences that help users make smarter financial decisions.
  • Work closely with crossโ€‘functional partners in Research, Design Systems, Data Analytics, and Product Design Ops to elevate your teamโ€™s thinking and execution.
  • Collaborate with other Product Design Team Leads to drive visibility and cohesion across groups and continuously improve our design process.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously elevate the product and the teamโ€™s capabilities.
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in user experience design or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of impactful design solutions and effective team leadership.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a role with design management responsibilities.
  • You are proficient in Figma and the first to try to make your process more efficient through Claude, ChatGPT and Figmaโ€™s latest releases.
  • You are not only an effective executor but also a skilled mentor, capable of leading initiatives from concept to completion while guiding other team members.
